Synopsis

Season 2 of Inspector Morse brings four new cases to watch online on iFILM — ITV, 1987, each running close to two hours. Oxford widens this time: the stories pull in American tourists, students from abroad, and the surrounding Oxfordshire countryside rather than keeping everything inside the university.

A wealthy American dies in the Randolph Hotel and the historic jewel she was due to donate to an Oxford museum disappears with her. A schoolgirl from a rich family has been missing six months; Morse is certain she was killed and digs into her school, turning up things the staff would rather keep quiet. An apparent ritual killing of a Japanese student leaves Morse with an unusual problem — he has inadvertently given all his suspects a solid alibi. The season closes in Woodstock, where a young secretary is found dead in a pub car park and the threads lead through passion, small corruptions, and people lying for reasons that aren't immediately obvious.
