Synopsis
Inspector Morse Season 6 — five episodes from 1992, watch online on iFILM. The darkest stretch of the series, and the one that most openly tests Morse as a professional.
It opens on a case that gets personal from the start: a terminally ill Oxford don found dead in his wheelchair, an apparent suicide, a family Morse already knows. Lewis grows quietly worried that the connection is affecting the investigation. A country-house murder — business tycoon, no sign of a break-in, every family member in the frame — is less unusual; what matters is the family dynamic the case exposes. The third episode takes the pair to Verona: an Englishwoman dead at a psychotherapy clinic, opera in a Roman amphitheatre, and Morse noticeably distracted by Nicole Burgess. An open-prison fraud case forces him to work alongside a brash subordinate he didn't ask for. The season ends on the bleakest note in the show's history: a drug designed to fight senility distributed at teen parties and driving some of them to suicide.
Five cases. Each one leaves a mark on Morse — and on the viewer. Stream Inspector Morse Season 6 online on iFILM.

S6·E2Happy Families
Business tycoon Sir John Balcombe is found murdered at his country house, Balcombe Castle, with no signs of a break-in. As a result, the dead man's wife and sons come under suspicion. Morse finds that the family is strangely untroubled, and several of his prime suspects have flawed characters and dark secrets - and then the Balcombe family suffers another killing. Meanwhile, Morse has to cope with journalists who try to turn his own personality into a story - and he also suffers from an unhelpful Chief Superintendant, covering for the station's usual boss, who puts pressure on him to crack the case in a hurry. In the end, though, Morse is vindicated and his various tormentors get their comeuppance.
S6·E3The Death of the Self
