Vibes

Vibes (1988) is an American psychic adventure comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Jeff Goldblum and Cyndi Lauper — the latter making her feature film debut — play a psychometrist and a medium who get hired for a job in South America. Peter Falk is the man with the offer, and Steve Buscemi turns up early in his career.

The job is supposedly finding a missing son in Ecuador. It isn't. The real target is a lost Incan city hidden somewhere in the mountains, full of whatever people went looking for before they disappeared. Local tribes and an armed crew are already in the area. Goldblum does his off-kilter anxious thing with full commitment; Lauper plays it completely differently — louder, more direct, unbothered by the mounting absurdity.
