Synopsis

James Marsden plays an ex-con fresh out of prison, back in the hometown he left behind. Thomas Jane is his brother, the local sheriff, whose fiancée (Piper Perabo) is deaf and reads lips. The two haven't really talked in years, so they head out on a two-day hike to patch things up. The forest has other plans — a grizzly nearby has started counting humans as prey.
It's a lean, no-frills creature feature, and it knows it: a tight survival chase with a few familiar faces, including Scott Glenn as a weathered hunter and Billy Bob Thornton as a man with a personal score to settle.
