Synopsis
The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Him (2014) is a drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Ned Benson as the first half of a two-film project. The same marriage, the same grief, the same unanswered questions — told once from his side and once from hers. This is Conor's version.
James McAvoy plays Conor, a New York restaurateur whose wife Eleanor, played by Jessica Chastain, disappears from their shared life after a loss neither of them can talk about. Benson structures the film around what isn't said. Conor is left piecing together what happened from fragments, other people's accounts, the silence where a person used to be. Viola Davis and Isabelle Huppert appear in supporting roles; Ciaran Hinds plays Conor's father. The film is slow in the way grief is slow, and it earns that pace. Watch The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Him online on iFILM — then the Her side to see how differently two people can experience the same story.
