With his friend Simon Holmes and the mysterious Dash X, Marshall investigates 32 episodes' worth of phenomena that don't fit into any textbook. Directed in part by Joe Dante of Gremlins and Bob Balaban, the show was canceled quickly on NBC but built a devoted following through reruns and grew into a template for the strange-small-town genre.
