Synopsis

Frankfurt schoolteacher Marion nearly hits an elderly stranger with her car and, out of guilt, lets him stay the night. He seems frail and harmless. He is in fact an envoy of a Satanic cult, and Marion was chosen on purpose — they mean for her to bear the Antichrist. Around her, a run of ritual killings keeps piling up.
Working from a script he co-wrote with producer Dario Argento, Soavi swaps shock gore for slow, dreamlike dread: a well beneath the floor, swarming insects, a blue heron that drifts through scenes like an omen. Kelly Curtis — Jamie Lee Curtis's sister — takes the lead, with veteran Herbert Lom as the cult's emissary.
