Love

Love (2011) is an American sci-fi drama directed by William Eubank that you can watch online on iFILM. Shot on a reported budget of around half a million dollars, it strips the space genre down to a single question: what does a person do when there is no one left to reach?

Astronaut Lee Miller has lost contact with Earth. Stranded alone aboard the International Space Station, he watches the life-support readouts tick down while silence answers every transmission. Gunner Wright carries almost every scene by himself, and the performance holds — the slow erosion of routine into something stranger is more convincing than most big-budget isolation thrillers manage. At some point Lee discovers something aboard the station that was not in the mission briefing.

The film comes with a score by Angels & Airwaves that sits somewhere between ambient and post-rock — it keeps the mood from tipping into pure despair. Eubank later directed The Signal and Underwater, but this debut has a handmade quality those films don't. Stream Love (2011) online on iFILM.
