Synopsis
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (Luftslottet som sprängdes, 2009) is the Swedish crime thriller closing out Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy — watch online on iFILM. Daniel Alfredson directs, with Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist reprising their roles.
Lisbeth Salander survives a bullet to the head but wakes up in a guarded hospital ward. The moment she's strong enough, she faces trial on three murder charges. Mikael Blomkvist and the Millennium team are digging the other direction — piecing together decades of state-sanctioned abuse and a shadow group inside Swedish intelligence that would rather Lisbeth never reaches a courtroom alive. She runs her own defense from a hospital bed, via laptop.
Of the three films, this one plays the most like a political procedural — fewer chases, more archival documents and courtroom strategy. That restraint is the point: Larsson built toward a reckoning, not a gunfight. Rapace carries every scene with minimal dialogue and maximum precision.
