"Intrigo: Death of an Author" (2018) is a German-Swedish psychological thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Daniel Alfredson and drawn from the fiction of Swedish crime novelist Håkan Nesser. It is the first in the three-part "Intrigo" anthology.

Translator David receives a manuscript from Germund Rein, a celebrated writer who mailed it shortly before his own death, with instructions not to publish the original. David reads it anyway. The novel inside is about a missing wife. The parallels to his own past grow harder to dismiss with each chapter. Ben Kingsley plays Rein; Benno Fürmann carries the film as the man unravelling whether a dead author somehow knew his secrets.
