Sleepless

Sleepless (Non ho sonno, 2001) is an Italian giallo thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Dario Argento and anchored by Max von Sydow. Turin. A serial killer. A nursery rhyme left at every crime scene, and seventeen years of unanswered questions.

The killer known as the Dwarf vanished in the mid-1980s after a string of brutal murders, leaving paper puzzles beside each body. Now the same method is back, the victims are piling up, and the only person who knew the original case from the inside is a retired detective who never stopped carrying it. He teams up with a young man whose father was killed during the first wave — both of them pulling at threads that were left deliberately tangled.

Argento made this as a conscious return to the hard-edged giallo style he helped build in the 1970s, complete with sharp kills and an unsettling score.
