It's 1972 now. Nine new kids have taken over the Sandlot, girls included for the first time, and they share the familiar problem: a stray model rocket has landed in Mr. Mertle's backyard. Something enormous lives back there. James Earl Jones is back in the same role, as warm as before. Evans keeps the same sun-bleached, summer-in-the-suburbs tone — nostalgic without being cloying.
