Highlander: The Source

Highlander: The Source (2007) is the fifth installment in the Highlander franchise you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Brett Leonard, it moves the story into a crumbling near-future world where civilisation has largely collapsed.

Duncan MacLeod, played by Adrian Paul, is drifting through the ruins of a fallen city, unable to stop thinking about the woman who left him. He eventually gathers a small band of Immortals around him, alongside mortal Watcher Joe Dawson, played by Jim Byrnes. Their goal is the Source — the origin point of Immortality itself. Guarding it is the Guardian, a single relentless figure who kills anyone who gets close.

Shot partly in Lithuania and made as a television film, The Source landed poorly with the franchise's core fans — the tone is uneven and the mythology takes some sharp turns.
