Synopsis
Once Upon a Time in China II (1992) is a Hong Kong martial arts film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Tsui Hark and starring Jet Li as the legendary folk hero Wong Fei-hung. The film runs 113 minutes and was produced at the peak of the genre's golden era.
It's 1895 in Guangzhou. A fanatical sect called the White Lotus has declared war on anything Western — burning clinics, attacking Chinese who dress in foreign clothes, threatening foreign delegates at a medical congress. Wong Fei-hung and his translator companion Aunt 13 find themselves caught between the sect's violence and a corrupt military. Revolutionary leader Sun Yat-sen also needs protecting. Donnie Yen appears as a military commander, and his fight against Jet Li became one of the most talked-about sequences the genre produced in that decade.
Tsui Hark gives the action genuine political weight here — the clash between isolationism and modernity is real, not decorative. The fight choreography is sharper and more urgent than in the first film. For many fans this is where the series peaks. Stream Once Upon a Time in China II (1992) online on iFILM.
