Synopsis
The Blade (1995) is a Hong Kong martial-arts film from Tsui Hark you can watch online on iFILM. A boy sees his father cut down, then grows up in the home of a sword forge that took him in.
As a young man he learns a brutal bandit named Lung killed his father, and he sets out for revenge. The road costs him his right arm — and he has to rebuild himself as a fighter with one hand, a broken blade and a half-burned combat manual. Vincent Zhao stars, with Xiong Xinxin and Colin Chou in the cast.
Tsui Hark built this as a savage reworking of the 1967 classic The One-Armed Swordsman: grimy, frantic, almost breathless, with slashing edits and zero romance. It isn't the film for anyone wanting elegant wuxia — it's about pain and the obsession revenge becomes. Stream The Blade online on iFILM.
