The Opposite of Sex

The Opposite of Sex (1998) is an American dark comedy you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Don Roos and built entirely around Christina Ricci doing something genuinely alarming. Her character, Deedee Truitt, is sixteen, amoral, and narrates her own story with the cheerful confidence of someone who has already decided she's the protagonist and everyone else is an obstacle.

Deedee shows up at her gay half-brother's house, seduces his boyfriend, gets pregnant, steals money, and leaves. The people she wrecked — her brother, his friend played by Lisa Kudrow, a detective, and the boyfriend — spend the rest of the film chasing her down. The tagline ("You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll be offended") is accurate.
