Synopsis
Four Against the Bank (Vier gegen die Bank, 2016) is a German crime comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Wolfgang Petersen. Four ordinary men — three who lost their savings because of a careless bank employee and the hapless clerk himself — cook up a heist to take back what's theirs.
Til Schweiger, Matthias Schweighöfer, Michael Herbig and Jan Josef Liefers are among Germany's most popular comedy actors, and Petersen lets them riff off each other with loose, easy energy. The plan falls apart in predictable but enjoyable ways: nobody in the group has any idea what they're doing, and that's exactly the point.
