Synopsis
We Have Always Lived in the Castle (2019) is a quiet, unsettling thriller you can watch online on iFILM, adapted from Shirley Jackson's beloved novel by director Stacy Passons. Sisters Merricat (Taissa Farmiga) and Constance (Alexandra Daddario) have sealed themselves inside the Blackwood family estate after a poisoning killed most of their relatives six years ago. The town below despises them. Uncle Julian (Crispin Glover) sits in his wheelchair and relives the tragedy on a loop.
Then cousin Charles (Sebastian Stan) arrives — charming on the surface, focused entirely on the family money underneath. Merricat clocks him for what he is immediately. Constance wants to believe otherwise. The real tension isn't between the sisters and the hostile village; it's between the two women about what to protect and what to let in.
Farmiga carries the film's unnerving center: a young woman whose rituals and superstitions are the only architecture keeping her world intact. Stream We Have Always Lived in the Castle (2019) on iFILM.
