Heartbeats

Heartbeats (2017) is a dance-driven musical romance you can watch online on iFILM. An American girl flies to India for a family wedding and comes home with something she never packed — a new way of moving and a crush to match.

Krystal is a bright hip hop dancer who lands in the middle of an Indian wedding and falls hard for the local choreography: faster, looser and unlike anything she's tried. The man teaching her the steps becomes the other thing she falls for. From there it's the familiar pull between two countries and two ideas of how to live and dance.

It's directed by Duane Adler, who wrote Save the Last Dance and Step Up, so the dance-romance formula sits well within his comfort zone. Don't come for heavy drama — come for the Indian-American dance fusion, the color and a warm, easy-to-guess finish. Krystal Ellsworth, Amitash Pradhan and Daphne Zuniga lead.
