Synopsis
China Moon (1994) is a neo-noir thriller you can watch online on iFILM. A seasoned detective in a sleepy Florida town falls hard for a beautiful young woman trapped in a loveless, violent marriage. That feeling pulls him, step by step, into territory he can't back out of.
Kyle Bodine spends his days untangling other people's crimes — and never sees how easily he becomes part of one. One lie feeds the next, and the case he's working starts pointing, impossibly, back toward him. Worse still, his eager young partner has a real gift for spotting the very clues Kyle needs to stay buried. Ed Harris and Madeleine Stowe lead, with Charles Dance and a very young Benicio del Toro alongside them.
This was cinematographer John Bailey's directorial debut, and it shows in the look: a slow, sweltering noir cut from James M. Cain cloth, where heat, desire and guilt bleed together. One for fans of the femme fatale and the man who digs his own grave. Stream China Moon (1994) online on iFILM.
