Synopsis
Street Trash (1987) is an American cult horror-comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by James M. Muro. A liquor store owner in New York City unearths a crate of sixty-year-old booze called Viper, marks it at a dollar a bottle, and starts moving it to the homeless men who camp nearby. The results are colorful. Extremely colorful. These people melt.
Running alongside the liquor plot is a psychotic Vietnam veteran who rules the junkyard with his own violent code, and two brothers trying to survive both threats at once. Muro — later a respected Steadicam operator on major productions — shot the whole thing on almost nothing, with practical gore effects that have more imagination than most studio horror of the era. This is straight-up B-movie splatter with a blackly comic streak, made with evident enthusiasm for its own excess. If you're in the right frame of mind for unhinged low-budget mayhem, Street Trash (1987) delivers. Watch it online on iFILM.
