Synopsis
The Stepfather (1987) is a psychological thriller directed by Joseph Ruben that you can watch online on iFILM. Terry O'Quinn plays the lead — a calculated performance that earned him a cult following and proved far more disturbing than anything a masked killer could manage.
The film opens mid-crime: Henry Morrison finishes killing his family, showers, changes clothes, and walks out the front door. Months later he's in a new town, under a new name, courting a widow and her teenage daughter Stephanie, played by Jill Schoelen. He has the charm, the patience, and the neighborly warmth of a man built for domestic life. Stephanie is the only one who senses something wrong — but suspicion isn't evidence, and her mother isn't listening.
Written by Donald E. Westlake, loosely inspired by a real case, the film lands harder than most genre contemporaries because the monster here is indistinguishable from any other respectable man next door. That's the idea, and O'Quinn sells every second of it. Stream The Stepfather (1987) online on iFILM.
