Margot, a college sophomore working the counter at a revival cinema, hands her number to an older customer named Robert. The texting comes easy — funny, quick, addictive. Then the real Robert turns out to be nothing like the one on her phone, and every date becomes a guessing game: is he dangerous, or just awkward? Emilia Jones plays Margot, Nicholas Braun (Greg from Succession) plays Robert, with Isabella Rossellini and Geraldine Viswanathan rounding out the cast.

Director Susanna Fogel takes a story about one bad date and twists it into a jittery study of how a woman reads the signals and weighs the risk beside a near-stranger.
