Synopsis
Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One (2021) is a noir animated mystery you can watch online on iFILM, adapted from the landmark Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale comic. A killer is loose in Gotham, and he only strikes on holidays.
The first victim turns up on Halloween, the next on Thanksgiving, with Christmas circled on the calendar. Each target belongs to the Falcone crime family, and each scene holds the same gun and a trinket tied to the date. The papers nickname the shooter Holiday. Batman, voiced by Jensen Ackles, works the case beside young district attorney Harvey Dent and Lieutenant Jim Gordon. Suspects pile up fast: rival mobsters, Catwoman, and the Joker among them.
This is the opening half of a Warner Bros. Animation two-parter, and its slow-burn, rain-soaked mood leans crime drama rather than caped slugfest. Troy Baker brings his familiar Joker, a role he has long made his own. It's a sharp pick for anyone who loves Gotham as a detective's city first and a battleground second.
