Synopsis
The Alamo (2004) is a historical war drama directed by John Lee Hancock — watch it online on iFILM. In early 1836, General Santa Anna leads a Mexican army into Texas. Roughly two hundred men take their stand inside a crumbling Spanish mission in San Antonio: frontiersman and former congressman Davy Crockett, played by Billy Bob Thornton, knife-fighter Jim Bowie, played by Jason Patric, and volunteers who arrived from across the frontier.
For thirteen days the garrison holds against overwhelming numbers while waiting for reinforcements that never come. Dennis Quaid plays General Sam Houston, trying to hold together a fragile Texan force far from the walls and choosing when to commit it. Hancock frames the siege without grandstanding — exhaustion and dread get as much screen time as heroics.
The final assault on March 6th lasted less than an hour. Every defender died. Weeks later the cry "Remember the Alamo" carried Houston's army to victory at San Jacinto, ending the war. The film earns its length by treating the episode as a tragedy first and a legend second. Stream The Alamo (2004) online on iFILM.
