Synopsis
Eromanga Sensei (2017) is a Japanese anime series you can watch online on iFILM. Masamune Izumi, fifteen, writes light novels, while the covers and art come from a mystery illustrator who signs everything as "Eromanga." Masamune has never seen the artist's face — they only ever talk online.
His younger stepsister Sagiri is a shut-in. For a full year she hasn't left her room and barely speaks to anyone, her brother included. Two teenagers share one roof, each guarding a secret, until Masamune puts it together: the famous "Eromanga" is Sagiri, and she probably out-earns him. From there this odd little family learns to draw and write side by side, bumping up against rival authors and the grind of the publishing world.
The anime was produced by A-1 Pictures from a light novel by Tsukasa Fushimi, the same writer behind the popular Oreimo. One season, twelve episodes. At heart it's a comedy about the business of making books, padded with plenty of fan service: fans of otaku rom-coms will slip right in, but viewers outside the genre will likely bounce off the sister premise.
