Everything this year bends toward one goal: getting the hotel back on top. In 1986 a rival snatches the number-one spot in Acapulco's annual "Best Hotels" ranking, and young Maximo will do almost anything to reclaim it — including going head-to-head with Don Pablo, the mentor who taught him the trade. At the same time he's working up the nerve to ask Julia the question that's been waiting for four seasons. A staff strike, a Miss Universe pageant that veers off the rails, a road trip to the World Cup, Sara leaving for college in New York — the season pulls together everyone we've followed since day one. In the present, an older Maximo readies the grand reopening and takes one last shot with Julia.
