Synopsis

Fresh out of veterinary college in Glasgow, young James takes a post with the eccentric country vet Siegfried Farnon. Nicholas Ralph plays James, Samuel West the irascible Siegfried, Anna Madeley the steady housekeeper Mrs Hall, and Rachel Shenton the farmer's daughter Helen, with Siegfried's feckless younger brother Tristan stirring up trouble.
