Synopsis
Taking Chance (2009) is an HBO war drama you can watch online on iFILM, based on a real diary kept by Lt. Col. Michael Strobl. Kevin Bacon plays Strobl, a desk officer who volunteers to escort the body of 19-year-old Marine Lance Cpl. Chance Phelps back to his hometown in Wyoming.
Strobl picked the assignment from a casualty list — a private act of conscience from a man who never saw combat. The cross-country journey through airports and small towns becomes a quiet accumulation of strangers pausing to pay their respects, each one briefly, without speeches.
