Synopsis
Center Stage: Turn It Up (2008) — watch online on iFILM. Directed by Steven Jacobson, this dance drama follows Kate Parker, a self-taught dancer who has the technique but fails the audition for the American Academy of Ballet. The academy wants more than precision. She doesn't know what that means yet.
Shut out from the classical track, Kate lands in a scrappy contemporary company led by choreographer Tommy — and the tension between them starts long before any romance does. Peter Gallagher and Ethan Stiefel return from the original 2000 film, giving the story continuity for fans of the first installment. Rachel Brooke Smith leads the new cast with enough drive to carry the film past its more predictable beats.
