Synopsis
Franklyn (2008) is a fantasy thriller from British writer-director Gerald McMorrow that you can watch online on iFILM, starring Eva Green and Ryan Phillippe across two intersecting worlds. In contemporary London, three damaged lives run in parallel: a father searching for his missing son, a man unable to move past his first love, and an art student whose video projects keep staging her own death. Meanwhile City is something else — a vast, faith-governed metropolis where a godless detective tracks a killer through foggy, cathedral-choked streets.
McMorrow's ambition is evident in every frame; the production design of Meanwhile City alone justifies a watch. The film's real subject is how grief warps perception until the line between delusion and reality dissolves entirely. Eva Green brings an unsettling intensity to her role, and Sam Riley makes an early impression as the broken romantic. The ending converges all four stories on a single bullet — a gamble that pays off if you've been paying attention. Stream Franklyn (2008) on iFILM.
