Synopsis

Derry Girls (2018), Season 2 is back on Channel 4 and ready to watch online on iFILM — six fresh episodes of the Northern Irish sitcom about a gang of Derry teenagers in the mid-nineties. A year older, no wiser.

It opens on a cross-community "peace weekend" meant to bond Catholic and Protestant kids, though Michelle has zero interest in reconciliation and total interest in the fit Protestant lads. From there: an inspiring new English teacher, a forbidden dash to a Take That gig in Belfast, a family wedding that spirals into disaster, and a fifties-themed prom. The wider conflict still hums in the background, and by the finale the whole city holds its breath for one very famous visitor.

Lisa McGee keeps the thick accent and the soft spot for her hometown, but the jokes swing harder and the timing sharpens. The second run is funnier than the first and a touch more honest. Stream Derry Girls Season 2 online on iFILM.
