Synopsis
Infernal Affairs III (無間道III, 2003) is the Hong Kong crime thriller that closes the trilogy — watch it online on iFILM. Directors Andrew Lau and Alan Mak return with Tony Leung Chiu-wai and Andy Lau for the most psychologically fractured chapter of the three.
The shootout is over. Yan is dead. Inspector Wong is gone. Lau has his story straight and the internal affairs report backs him up. But Lau can't stop — he's convinced there are more moles still buried in the department, loyal to crime boss Sam. He starts hunting them one by one. Meanwhile the film splices between timelines: scenes running parallel to the first movie, scenes that follow it, and a new thread involving the calculating Inspector Yeung (Leon Lai) whose allegiances no one can read.
Where the first Infernal Affairs worked on clean dramatic irony — cop pretending to be criminal, criminal pretending to be cop — the finale turns that inside out. Lau is no longer just hiding a past; he's losing the thread of who he actually is. It demands you've seen the earlier films, and rewards you if you have.
