Synopsis
Gregg Araki's crime drama The Living End (1992) is available to watch online on iFILM. Two HIV-positive men hit the road across America, convinced they have nothing left to lose — and that conviction drives every reckless mile.
One is a soft-spoken, underemployed film critic who overthinks everything. The other is a swaggering hustler who treats a stolen gun like punctuation. A chance meeting turns into a getaway: robberies, gunfire, cheap motels and a highway that leads nowhere in particular. Tenderness grows between them, but the hustler's fury keeps pulling them deeper into trouble. Mary Woronov turns up briefly, lending her cult-cinema edge.
Shot on almost no budget, the film became a calling card of early-nineties New Queer Cinema: angry, tender and punk all at once. Araki offers no comfort and no lecture — just the rage of a generation handed a diagnosis instead of a future. It's a pick for viewers who want their auteur cinema raw. Stream The Living End (1992) online on iFILM.
