Synopsis
The Adventures of Tintin (1991) is a French-Canadian animated series you can watch online on iFILM. Director Stéphane Bernasconi adapted Hergé's celebrated comic albums for television: young Belgian reporter Tintin and his wire fox terrier Snowy travel from the slopes of Tibet to the surface of the Moon, from the Egyptian desert to the ocean floor, chasing stories and running into trouble at every stop.
Each episode is a self-contained adventure drawn closely from a specific album, with Captain Haddock's spectacular profanity and the absent-minded Professor Calculus along for most of the ride. The animation follows Hergé's ligne claire style — clean outlines, flat colour, no visual clutter — which keeps the series visually faithful to the source in a way that few adaptations manage.
What sets Tintin apart from most children's animation is the refusal to talk down: the plots involve real geopolitical tensions, colonial history and genuine danger. The 1991 series remains the closest thing to a straight-to-screen version of the albums. Stream all episodes of The Adventures of Tintin online on iFILM.
