Synopsis
Prime Suspect (1991), Season 6 — two 2003 episodes you can watch online on iFILM — pushes Jane Tennison's work well past the usual London casebook. Helen Mirren is back, and this time the investigation collides with history.
It begins with the body of a young woman, an illegal refugee from Bosnia. What reads at first as one more neighbourhood killing pulls the Balkan war into the room: a sole surviving witness to a decade-old massacre, and the men who want her silenced for good. In the second part Tennison travels to Bosnia, gets a breakthrough, then hits a wall — her suspect is shielded by the British government itself. For once the obstacle isn't a gang. It's the state.
After the close, Manchester-bound entries, this run opens the scale right up: less office routine, more weight on who actually wants the truth when the truth is inconvenient. Mirren plays an older Tennison dry and stubborn, and that is both her strength and her solitude. Stream Prime Suspect Season 6 online on iFILM.
