Synopsis
The Deep Blue Sea (2011) is a British drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Terence Davies and adapted from Terence Rattigan's 1952 stage play. London in the early postwar years: the bombing has stopped, but the emotional damage runs deep, and respectable life carries on behind tightly closed doors.
Hester Collyer walks away from a comfortable marriage to a distinguished judge — played by Simon Russell Beale — for an ex-RAF pilot named Freddie Page (Tom Hiddleston). Rachel Weisz plays a woman consumed by a feeling her world has no category for. Freddie is charismatic but hollow; her husband is kind but cannot reach her; society has no sympathy to offer.
