EO

EO (2022) is a Polish-Italian road drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Jerzy Skolimowski. A grey donkey named EO moves through the world the way people rarely do — without agenda, without language, without the ability to lie.

He passes through a circus, a horse-racing yard, a forest, a shelter, and a few households that say more about human nature than any courtroom drama could. Isabelle Huppert appears in one brief stretch of the film and manages to shift its entire gravity. Skolimowski's camera stays close to the animal and turns that proximity into something unsettling: the cruelty and kindness EO encounters aren't dramatised — they're just shown.
