Synopsis
A Christmas Gift from Bob (2020) is a British family drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Charles Martin Smith brings back busker James Bowen (Luke Treadaway) and his ginger cat for one more chapter of a real-life story that began as a runaway memoir.
The holidays are near, and James thinks back to the first Christmas he and Bob spent together. He's broke, the flat is freezing, and an animal welfare officer turns up convinced a homeless street performer has no business keeping a cat. To hold on to his friend, James has to prove the obvious — that the two of them saved each other. It's warm without being sugary, honest about poverty and the kindness of strangers.
Based on Bowen's own books, with the real Bob handling part of the cat's screen time, just as in the earlier films. A gentle pick for a family evening by the tree, made for anyone who wants quiet cinema with a living animal in frame rather than a greeting card.
