Synopsis
Trick or Treat (1986) is an American horror-comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Charles Martin Smith. Eddie is a metalhead outcast who worships rock star Sammi Curr. When Curr dies under murky circumstances, Eddie ends up with the only copy of his unreleased album — and discovers that playing it backwards brings the musician back. Just not in a good way.
The advice starts helpful. By Halloween it gets deadly. Marc Price plays Eddie with a convincing desperation; Gene Simmons of KISS and Ozzy Osbourne both appear in small but well-placed roles. The film was made right in the middle of the "satanic panic" surrounding heavy metal, and it runs with the hysteria rather than mocking it — which is why it still works as both horror and dark comedy.
