The Big 4

The Big 4 (2022) is an Indonesian action comedy directed by Timo Tjahjanto, available to watch online on iFILM. A straight-laced female detective travels to a remote tropical island to investigate her father's death — and finds out he was running a squad of contract killers.

The squad is still there. Four retired assassins, collectively out of shape and out of practice, have been hiding in the jungle waiting for nothing in particular. When their old enemies come hunting, detective Alfie (Putri Marino) has to team up with the very people she should probably be arresting. Abimana Aryasatya, Lutesha, and Arie Kriting make up the rest of the crew, and the ensemble chemistry is what carries the film's 141 minutes.

Tjahjanto built his reputation on brutal action, so watching him play a genre strictly for laughs is its own kind of surprise. The fight choreography is still sharp — he clearly couldn't help himself — but the tone stays loose and self-aware throughout. Stream The Big 4 online on iFILM.
