Venus

Venus (2022) is a Spanish horror film directed by Jaume Balagueró — stream it online on iFILM. Ester Expósito plays Lucía, a club dancer on the run who flees to her sister Rocío's apartment in a grim high-rise on the edge of Madrid. The building feels wrong from the first frame.

Balagueró made REC, so he knows exactly how to use walls closing in. The tension here isn't jump scares — it's the slow creep of something underneath the surface. Rocío keeps her daughter Alba hidden from visitors. The neighbours don't make eye contact. And Lucía, who came looking for safety, starts to realise she may have walked into something far worse than what she was running from.
