Synopsis
Take My Eyes (Te doy mis ojos, 2003) is a Spanish drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Icíar Bollaín and awarded seven Goya prizes — best film, best director, best actress and best actor among them. On a cold winter night, Pilar grabs her son and a few belongings and walks out on her husband Antonio. She doesn't say goodbye. She just goes.
Laia Marull plays Pilar with a physical economy that communicates years of damage without a single scene of it being explained. Luis Tosar makes Antonio into something harder to dismiss than a villain — a man who genuinely believes he loves her, who shows up at counselling, who cries on cue, who still can't stop himself. The film tracks both of them: her slow recovery at her sister Ana's house, her new job as a museum guide, the first small pleasures of a life that belongs to her; and his alternating rage and contrition, always circling back.
Bollaín doesn't lecture. She just lets you watch the cycle operate. Stream Take My Eyes (2003) online on iFILM.
