The season is one long trek across the scorched "Black." The two uncover a training Jaeger, Atlas Destroyer, and simply waking it draws a Kaiju straight to their village. From there: power cells running dry, dead cities to scavenge, and a roaming settlement called Bogan that trades in Kaiju parts, run by a leader who senses the kids are hiding something. Along the road they take in a silent boy whose past is tangled up with the creatures themselves. Every chapter doubles as a piloting lesson — two untrained teenagers learning to walk a war machine through hostile country while the search for their parents pulls them deeper.

Polygon Pictures leans on hard-edged 3D animation and a tight runtime: seven episodes, no filler. It plays older than a cartoon spun off a blockbuster has any right to.
