The Sarah Jane Adventures (2007–2011) is a children's sci-fi series you can watch online on iFILM. A BBC spin-off of Doctor Who: the Doctor's old companion is back on Earth for good, but the aliens never left.

Sarah Jane Smith works as a journalist in a quiet suburb and spends her evenings defending the planet from unwelcome visitors. Her crew is the teenagers next door — Maria, her adopted son Luke, fast-talking Clyde and later Rani — plus a sonic lipstick and Mr Smith, a supercomputer tucked away in the attic. Five series add up to dozens of episodes, each adventure running across a couple of parts. Elisabeth Sladen plays the very same Sarah Jane she did back in 1970s Doctor Who.

Russell T Davies, the man who revived Doctor Who, built the show as proper family sci-fi: the monsters bite harder than you'd expect from kids' TV, yet the core is kindness and growing up.
