Synopsis
Prehistoric Planet (2022), Season 3 is the nature documentary you can watch online on iFILM — five episodes narrated by David Attenborough. This time the cameras leave the dinosaurs behind and walk straight into the Ice Age.
The arc follows the cold from start to thaw. Episode one drops woolly mammoths and saber-toothed cats into the harshest temperatures in millions of years. Then the seas pull back, continents drift, and animals push into unfamiliar territory where fresh ground also means fresh predators. Deserts spread once the water locks up as ice, and rock-climbing sloths and marsupial lions have to make the barren land work. Grasslands widen, giant herds graze under the watch of hunters, and the season closes on the Big Melt — when the world the Ice Age goliaths know begins to disappear.
Built by Jon Favreau's team and the producers of Planet Earth, the extinct creatures here look less like animation and more like wildlife caught on camera.
