Medellin

Medellin (2023) is a French-Colombian action comedy you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Franck Gastambide, who also stars alongside longtime collaborator Ramzy Bedia. The two previously made the Taken parody franchise Pattaya together, and this one follows the same blueprint: ordinary guys, extraordinary danger, a lot of escalating bad decisions.

Reda's little brother has been grabbed by a Medellín cartel boss. A ransom negotiation is not on the table. So Reda assembles a crew of similarly unqualified friends and flies to Colombia with a plan he's too embarrassed to explain in full. Things get worse when they decide to snatch the cartel leader's son as leverage — and somewhere in the middle of all this, Mike Tyson shows up playing himself, which the film treats as entirely unremarkable.

It's loud, cheerful and completely uninterested in realism. Gastambide has a knack for keeping ensemble comedies moving even when the logic goes sideways, and the Colombian locations give it a bit more production scale than the usual French comedy. Stream Medellin (2023) online on iFILM.
