Synopsis
Jiang Ziya (姜子牙, 2020) is a Chinese animated fantasy film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Cheng Teng and Li Wei from Coloroom Pictures — part of the same mythological universe as Ne Zha. After the great war between gods and mortals ends, supreme commander Jiang Ziya is handed a final order: destroy the Nine-tailed Fox Demon. He hesitates. He shouldn't. He does anyway.
Bound to the Fox is the soul of an innocent girl named Xiao Jiu. Killing the demon means taking her with it. Jiang Ziya defies heaven's decree — and loses everything: his divine rank, his powers, his place among the gods. The film follows his exile to the mortal world and the journey that follows, which is less about reclaiming power and more about whether the laws of heaven are actually just. It's a heavier question than most animated films bother to ask.
