Synopsis
Outlaw (2007) is Nick Love's brutal British crime thriller, and you can watch online on iFILM. A handful of strangers, fed up with street violence and a police force that never shows, band together into a vigilante posse and start handing out punishment themselves.
The man who pulls them together is Bryant, an Iraq War veteran played with cold menace by Sean Bean. Ordinary men — a lawyer, a security guard, a student, a homeless drifter (Danny Dyer, Rupert Friend, Sean Harris, Lenny James) — learn to throw the first punch and stop asking questions. Revenge feels righteous at first. The further they go, the harder it gets to tell the protectors from the thugs they swore to stop, and Bob Hoskins, as a bent cop, only nudges them closer to the edge.
Love shoots it mean and joyless, stripping the violence of any glamour: this is a film about righteous anger curdling into addiction. Don't expect clean heroes — everyone here is bloody to the elbows. Fans of grim British thrillers like The Football Factory will find their footing fast. Stream Outlaw (2007) online on iFILM.
