Synopsis
The Sweeney (2012) is a hard-edged British crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Director Nick Love brings back the iconic Flying Squad detective Jack Regan — played by Ray Winstone — and drops him into contemporary London, where he runs a one-man war on organised crime with a set of rules he invented himself.
Regan and his partner George Carter (Plan B) catch a jewellery store robbery that leaves one person dead. The killing looks clean. Too clean. As they dig deeper the case pulls in strands that reach closer to Regan than anyone expected — and his affair with his superior's wife makes every step riskier. Hayley Atwell and Damian Lewis round out the cast.
Based on the beloved 1970s British TV series of the same name, this update strips out any nostalgia and goes straight for the brutality.
